Day 262-- Emily sent a letter to President Obama a few months ago. The response was mailed on her birthday and arrived while we were at ballet. Her letter: Dear President, You are super and I am 4. Love, Emily His letter: Dear Student: Blah blah blah, really big words, stuff that's not relevant to you. Sincerely, B-scribble I had hoped for something a little more age-appropriate, but it's still exciting to get something from the White House. Even if it is the expected form letter. Note to whoever actually saw Emily's card and addressed this envelope: I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you for your pretty handwriting. PS-- I forgot to mention that she also included a letter to "Mrs. President" and that I wrote clear translations of everything she wrote so that Mr. and Mrs. President would be sure to understand her words.
